Want a Baby Girl or Baby Boy?

Some parents would like to have a baby boy, some wishes for a baby girl, while others does not have preference at all. Anyway, babies are blessing. Be it a boy or girl.

To those planning to have a baby, and with personal choice of gender, this blog might be of help ;)

Tips on Conceiving a baby boy or girl

1. Seek the Chinese Calendar Pregnancy Gender Chart
This chart was found in an ancient royal tomb near Beijing. It is said to be over 90% accurate in predicting your baby’s gender. That’s better than 50/50 hehehe. In fairness, I back-tracked my three pregnancies and checked it against this chart, all were correct. So how are you going to interpret the chart?

1. First, take note of your age when do you plan to conceive. Then add 1 to your age.

2. Across the row corresponding to the age calculated on step 1, you will find boxes marked with M (for Male) and F (for Female).

3. Depending on your gender preference, look at the corresponding column on top portion of the chart. This is the month that you should plan the conception.

So easy di ba? You may also use this as reference if you're already pregnant and wanted to know the gender of the baby in your tummy.

2. Follow certain Sex Position

Missionary Style - Sperm with the X-chromosome or the female sperm travel slower and can survive up to five days (some says up to 72 hrs). Because penetration isn't typically as deep in this position, the sperm have a longer way to go, giving the females a clear advantage. Dr. Ava Cadell, spokesperson for The Experience Channel and renowned love and sex therapist, says that to have a girl, the woman should be on top so that she can control the depth of penetration. Take note that the Male Sperm have a shorter lifespan than female sperm do.

Spooning -  this position allows for shallow penetration only, therefore upping the chances of a female sperm actually reaching and fertilizing the egg first.

Making Love from Behind - the preferred position for conceiving a boy. This theory is based on the fact that Y chromosome sperm (male sperm) swim faster than X chromosome sperm (female sperm). Since the deep penetration afforded by rear entry sex allows sperm to be deposited right at the opening of the cervix, it is expected that the male sperm will tend to “win” the short race and fertilize the egg first.

Additional Tip: There's a study regarding timing of intercourse- three to four days before ovulation- increases chances of conceiving a girl.

3. Strict Food Diet
There's this Food Diet that need to be observed. If Slimming Diet is difficult, so is this. It would require you strict diet adherence and will power. According to a study, the diet should be started 9 weeks before planned conception and lasted until a pregnancy home test provided proof of pregnancy. More details at

Girl: Low Calorie, high calcium and magnesium
Milk, yogurt,  egg, tofu, oatmeal, beans,
       almonds, spinach, broccoli, cashews and
       oranges

Boy: Foods listed above are prohibited.
Only foods high in salt and potassium.
       Coffee,potatoes, bacon, bread, shrimp,
       smoked salmon.

There you have it. There's no harm in trying. But if this would not work on you, just accept and love the baby that you will have. Anyway, You can try again on your next plan of pregnancy :)

ciao!

New Look!

It's been awhile since my last post. I was reading some blog sites, mostly from mom bloggers. My interest in writing blogs stirred once again. So I started with re-designing my blog lay-out and background.

Expect to read my family adventures, places we've been to and hotel reviews. At some time, I will also be posting food recipes which I personally cooked and DIY stuff that I have done.

So here it is! Introducing my new project, Margz and the Boys :)

Happy Reading!

ciao,
Margz
